2005 World Poker Tour

The 2005 World Poker Tour is poised to shatter all previous records as was seen at last weeks LA Poker Classic. A record 382 players showed up in Los Angeles to play for a whopping 3,871,500 prize pool. The prize pool was also a record for a WPT event. It took 3 days just to get the pool of players down to 6 for the showdown at the final table.With a payday of 1.4 million for the winner it's easy to see why this phenomenon is quickly consuming the general public as one of the more popular sports on tv.
